Here, usingjoomla.com would like to provide a list of abbreviations that you might see or hear about in your website journey.
The abbreviations and what they stand for are listed here in alphabetical order based on the first letter of the abbreviation.
Some of these abbreviations may not be come across very often, if at all. Others, if you read articles or help forums, you may encounter more often.
Do you need to understand any, or all, of them - not really - but if you want to understand more about what goes on "under the hood" of either Joomla and/or hosting then there may be benefits in developing an understanding.
This list will be updated over time, however if we have missed any out - feel free to let us know.
Some of these abbreviations are used in areas other than web design, web hosting, or associated programming - but because they are exclusively used in these areas or in these areas as well as other areas we have included them here.
Some abbreviations are indirectly associated with web design and web-hosting such as when you manage your domain name, and/or website mail, though when it comes to setting up your website mail I am confident that a good web-host will advise or help you - once you become familiar with the process and terminology.
